Beer # 2 – Using the base of our French oak aged Helles, we re-fermented this beer on raspberries in ex-chardonnay barrels that had been freshly emptied of a mixed fermentation Saison. Raspberries and oak on the nose create a lively and refreshing aroma reminiscent of a springtime rose garden. The base beer is still present but the palate is complex and tart, showcasing the raspberry and bready malt notes in what is more like a sour beer than a lager.
